Outbound Proxy Setup Using the Linksys PAP2 ATA

To use SIP Broker with a Linksys PAP2 ATA follow these instructions:

Setup Steps:

  1. Setup your PAP2 according to your provider's instructions.
  2. Using a Web browser, access the admin login page for the ATA.
  3. Select the "switch to advanced view" link, and then select the line you wish to configure e.g. "Line 1"

  4. Scroll down to the proxy settings. The settings should contain your provider's setup.

  5. Modify the following fields in bold. All other fields should be setup in accordance to your provider's instructions.


    Proxy: <as per your provider setup>
    Outbound Proxy: sipbroker.com
    Use Outbound Proxy: yes
    Use OB Proxy In Dialog: no

    Example:

    Let's say your sip URI is OZtell 89906012345@sip.oztralia.com. You would then setup:

    Proxy: sip.oztralia.com
    Outbound Proxy: sipbroker.com
    Use Outbound Proxy: yes
    Use OB Proxy In Dialog: no

    Note: As you are using an outbound proxy configuration, your ATA must be configured to use the SIP Broker server as its outbound proxy. As a result, All PSTN and provider specific calls must now be prefixed with your providers SIP-Code. See the FAQ for a HowTo on Dialing using a provider SIP-Code.

  6. Congratulations, you have completed the initial setup of your ATA. To test your setup, simply call:

    *011-1-88888

    You should hear the SIP Broker announcement. If you don't, re-check the above settings. In the event that you are still having difficulties, please consult our Support Forum.

  7. You are now ready to dial and receive calls.
